CHRIS TROUSDALE
Preaching Pastor
In 2012 Covenant Baptist Church (formerly Church at the Cross) was founded under the leadership of its preaching pastor, Chris Trousdale. Chris brings more than 23 years of preaching and ministry experience to CBC. He has a passion for expositional preaching, walking the church through the Bible verse by verse. Chris holds a Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and a Master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Chris married his wife Allison in 2001, and they now have four children, sons Nathanael, Calvin, and Elijah and a daughter, Piper.
The Gospel
The word “gospel” means “good news.” The message of the Christian faith is gospel; it is good news. It is a message that brings hope, forgiveness, newness, love and life. The gospel is grounded in the historical reality of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which brought about the spiritual salvation that we can enjoy in Him.
Statement of Faith
A Statement of Faith is a declaration of truths, as we understand them, in regard to the Gospel. This does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, speaks with final authority and is the sole and final source of all that we believe.
